Last vacation. Sweet summer time. Memories made.

It's funny how during the summer, especially when on vacation, Mondays have a different feeling. (for me anyway) Nick had to wake up at 6 this morning to drive around to some surrounding counties for work. I thought when he kissed me bye at 7 that I wouldn't be able to fall back asleep...but thankfully I dozed right back to sleep until 10.:) Now that's some good sleep right there!! I woke up and ate some breakfast. We hung out at the house until around 1:30 when we made our way to the pool. We heard that it was still very windy and the sand felt even worse on the beach than yesterday so we decided to not even attempt the beach today. Nick got back around 3 and hung out at the pool for a bit with me.
Baby Bump:):)

We came in and had a snack then Nick and I took a bike ride around the island. Emily ended up coming with us, too because she was not having the best of time fishing with Jacob. I guess it's still considered fishing even if you're not catching anything. ;-)

Nick was in the lead for the bike ride and we rode, and rode, and rode, and rode sooo far! This is a house we saw being built last year and we wanted to see what it looked like finished...
I couldn't get the WHOLE house in one picture because it's so big! Right on the beach...for about $30 million!! WHOA! I told Emily that maybe God was making notes on what kind of mansion I would have one day. ;-) After our long bike ride we came back to our house.
We hung out until it was time for dinner. Hamburgers, baked beans, and salad.:) YUM! We all crowded around the T.V. at 8 to watch the finale of Bachelorette. I know, I know...silly show...but most of us like it and couldn't wait to see who she picked. (Even though we just knew it was going to be Josh;)) I fixed Strawberry Yum Yum for us to have for dessert with some ice cream.
Here's the link for the recipe... they call it 'cobbler', but to us it is Strawberry Yum Yum:):)
http://www.cooks.com/recipe/se6zm0wo/1-cup-cobbler.html
And it was very yum, yum!:):) NOT 'clean' at all and of course not healthy, but I am trying to remember that I am in fact on vacation! I am sure Lilly loved the sweetness of the strawberries along with the 1 cup of sugar that the recipe calls for!;-) My child better like strawberries anyway or I won't have a clue as to how she belongs to me or Nick!! After the 3 hour showcase of some trashy T.V. watching we were all bed bound. Well...most of us...Kelly, Josh, and Jacob went fishing in the ocean. We stayed in because Nick has to get up early again tomorrow. Night night!:)

Here are some sweet sayings that are in our house.:)

Nick had to leave around 7 to travel to some counties for work. I kissed him bye and then stayed up and watched some T.V. Lifetime Movie Network always seems to have something on that interests me:). Plus, Lilly was up moving around doing her normal morning tumbling routine so I got to lay there and feel her move for a little bit. I finally crawled out of bed around 9 and ate some cereal and a banana for breakfast. Nick was working, Josh and Kelly were sleeping, Jacob and Emily were off on a Kayak Fishing Trip...so Nick's dad, Joy, Chrissy (Joy's dog), and I went for a late morning bike ride around 11. We rode to the "museum" (as Nick's dad calls it;))...it's really the nature center.

We hung out up there for a bit after we looked around at the animals in the nature center. Then we headed back to our house. Nick and I went out to the pool for about an hour when he got back in. Then we all started getting ready. The plan was to leave at 4:30. Surprisingly we were all ready and able to leave at 5 though. :) Off to Charleston we went!
Nick and I before we left for Charleston
Allen Girls selfie in the car on the way:)

The car ride to Charleston was filled with a lot of singing from a variety of genres. Somehow we ended up listening to mostly 70's on 7 since Nick's dad wouldn't let anyone else choose a station.;-) It was funny though because when we were listening to 80's on 8, the "Ghostbusters" song came on and it seemed to fit perfectly with how we were planning to end our night...a haunted jail tour in downtown Charleston. So we all were singing our loudest when that song came on.:) It was like taking a trip back in time...not necessarily to the year the song came out (1984...the year Nick and I were born)...but it brought back memories of watching the movie and just being a kid again. I love how songs can just take you back to that place and help you relive those moments all over again.:)
We got to Hyman's and only had a 30 minute wait before we got a table.
Nick's dad loves taking random pictures when nobody knows he's taking them:)

Here are a few of us while we were waiting on our table...

This was hanging up in Hyman's and I thought it was very thought provoking and definitely worth reading...:)

After dinner we walked around for a little bit looking in shops. Our ghost tour was at 9:30 so we headed over to the jail then. I was a little very leery of going on the ghost tour since I'm pregnant. I know the only spirit that I believe in is the Holy Spirit, but I seriously wondered if evil spirits would do something to my baby. While we were waiting we looked up what other people said on the internet about being pregnant and ghost tours. It was pretty funny what people have to say about that. Nick of course just laughed it off and said everything would be fine. The guys downloaded apps on their phones that were supposed to be 'ghost detectors'. It made me feel better that everyone was making a joke about going.:) The tour only lasted 45 minutes. It wasn't the most fun I'd ever had, but it was a neat experience. It would have been a little more bearable if the jail would have been air conditioned. UGH....pregnant...hot...being in a stuffy room filled with 20+ people...makes me breathe heavy just thinking about it. Our car ride back to our house was another musical filled one. Singing different genres of music and Jacob trying to keep beat to the music by clapping are some of the highlights from the 30 minute drive.:) We stayed up for a little bit before calling it a day.:)

Well the weather didn't agree with having a "bright and beautiful Wednesday". I woke up this morning around 9ish and ate some breakfast...Special K Protein cereal and a banana...what else?!?:) I decided to head out to the screen porch to do my 'quiet time' around 11. Not long after I was sitting outside it started to rain. It was so pretty though. Maybe it was the birds chirping along with the sound of rain or the little bit of sunshine that was peeking through or maybe just knowing what beauty comes from a good rain. Here are some pictures from the porch...

I love how God gives us a heart to see the beauty even through the rain. Sometimes it doesn't happen right away...especially when you're going through something very hard. Sometimes it isn't until...days...months...or years later when you can see more of the whole picture and how certain pieces fell into place despite the rainstorms you endured. And there are some things we experience in life that no matter how much time passes we still can't see the good...the beauty. However, I believe with all of my heart that when I meet God face to face one day He will reveal to me how every piece did fit perfectly together. After all, He is the author and finisher of all things and He is good!!
I read my devotion from "Waiting in Wonder" and it went right along with what God had already placed on my heart this morning. The title of the devotion is "Wisdom's Design"... "O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all." -Psalm 104:24 The devotion went on to talk about how the hormone relaxin is getting in the way of being able to relax at this point in pregnancy as it is preparing your body for labor. OH HOW VERY, VERY TRUE THAT IS! Relaxing is not even something that I feel very much, if at all anymore. I think I would have to be getting a massage 24-7 right now to feel relaxed at all!! The devotion went on and told of how there is wisdom in His creation down to the smallest cellular or hormonal level. This really 'hit home' to me as I have marveled at every point in my pregnancy...how each intricate detail was orchestrated and comes together. He truly is AMAZING! My reflection time was to write about some aspect of God's wisdom made manifest in His creations. Then I was to write a prayer for God to use my child to renew my childlike wonder of who He is and what He has made. What a wonderful reminder and a great prayer to prepare my heart to "slow down" and be amazed at God's creation with my sweet Lilly Bug. Thank you God, for giving me these times of reflection and making my heart grow more glad by the minute. How truly grateful I am for this blessing growing inside of me and what's ahead!:)
The sun ended up coming out for good around 2:00. Joy and I went to the village. We ate some pizza for lunch, looked around in a few shops, and then had a delicious treat from Marble Slab. YUUUM! I could have another scoop of sweet cream with Oreos and strawberries in a waffle cone right now just thinking about it!:) We went on a bike ride when we got back around 4:00. We rode down to the beach and rode our bikes in the direction of the wind and then got back on the street to ride back to the house. It was a good little workout, but I was once again reminded that as relaxing as the bike rides were every summer before now...this summer it seemed like a lot more work. ;-) We had to go back to the village to the grocery store to get a few more things for dinner. We ate around 8:00...steaks were cooked, but I opted for barbeque chicken...our sides were baked potato and salad. This was my favorite meal so far! There's nothing like grilled chicken, especially in the summer time!! After dinner we hung out talking and watching T.V. It was off to bed pretty early tonight...for Nick and I anyway...around 10:30.
Here are some pictures of Jacob and Emily on their ocean fishing trip today:)

Early to rise this morning...around 7:45. I ate some Cheerios Protein cereal and a banana...YUM!;-) The rain decided to come again.

We had a pretty good little shower for about 30 minutes and then 'wa-la' out came the sun to dry up all the rain! ;-) We went for a walk...and we saw this beautiful crane just hanging out.
Our walk was cut short because it started raining again!! So much for sunshine staying out...today was definitely a rainy, rainy day!! We all decided to just be lazy and enjoy it:):)
This pillow in our beach house has the perfect message for a rainy day...

Joy's mom, Laine, and her husband, Tobias came down for the night. We went to dinner when they got there. One of our favorite places that we always go to is RB's...so RB's it was. ;-) It's nice because it's right on the water!! We even got to see some dolphins swimming by! I had a salad, grilled chicken, and French fries for dinner. It was very good! I also had a few bites of she crab soup...I just couldn't resist!
Here are a few pics of us at dinner...:)

Here are some pictures of us after dinner.:)

This one is a funny one of everyone touching my belly:)

After dinner we went to Frankie's Fun Park. They rode go-karts and I was the photographer since I couldn't ride this year.:)
Emily getting ready to go!:)

Jacob getting strapped in.:)

Nick getting buckled up:)

Nick having a good time:)

Kelly and Joy ready to race around the track:)

After the Go-Kart riding we went to get a little dessert from Marble Slab!! YUUUM:):)
Decisions...decisions... ;-)
What a great way to end a great day!!:):)

**30 Weeks today!!** 10 weeks to go!!**:):)

Last day blues hit us early for sure. The weather was not looking very promising and the prediction for rain was definitely keeping us guessing....but we decided to head out to the beach and make the most of the day despite the cloudy weather. We got to go out for just a bit before the chance of rain sent us back in.:)
Nick was excited to show his brothers a game that he and some friends had played together many years ago. Here they are in action...

Me, Nick and Lilly at Kiawah:)

Later that day we went to Fresh Fields to get a few groceries for dinner and to walk around in the shops.:)
Here are a few pics at Fresh Fields:)

Before dinner we went on our last bike ride this summer... Here are some pictures from our looooong ride.:)

I reminded Nick about the panaromic view and he took some great shots!:)

After our sunset bike ride we came in and ate dinner shortly after. We had low country boil and corn on the cob! YUMMY in my TUMMY!:):) We also had a strawberry pretzel dessert that Kelly's brother's fiancé, Tammi made and it was DELICIOUS!! We watched a little T.V. before we all decided to call it a day:) Nobody wanted to go to bed because we knew it meant our trip was over...:(

Nick and I got on the road a little after 8:00. The weather was still rainy and gloomy so it made leaving a little less difficult. My mom picked Jonah up for us from the kennel so he was waiting on us when we got home:) I always get so excited to see him! When he sees us he whines and whines because he's just so happy! It's too sweet!! Nick and I spent the day being very, very lazy! We ate Chick-Fil-A for lunch then watched a few movies. I took a short nap during one of the movies. For dinner Nick had Firehouse and I had a grilled chicken salad from Zaxby's. We rented a movie from Redbox. It was a perfect, lazy day to be back home!:)

We went to the 11:00 service at church this morning. Actually we got there a little after 11. I had a very, very hard time finding something to wear this morning. I ended up wearing a dress that I bought at the beginning of summer and I really had no business wearing it 30 weeks pregnant. I felt like it was a little short for a pregnant woman to be wearing, but we were already late so I just decided to wear it anyway. After church we ate with the "Allen Clowns" at Wade's. It had been a VERY long time since I had any Wade's veggies...actually back to the days when I didn't feel so well during the first trimester so I had not wanted to eat there since. It was pretty good today though...yummy yeast roll, turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, green beans, and turnip greens. Plus some of Kelly's sweet potato soufflé and okra.:) YUM!
After lunch Nick and I went to do a little shopping! (It was HIS idea!) Since it was 'tax free' weekend he was excited to go out. AND he found a coupon in the mail for Shoe Carnival and he was in desperate need of some new tennis shoes to work out in. The trip was a success for everyone! Nick got 2 new pair of tennis shoes and 2 shirts. I got a few pair of pants and a dress as part of my back to school wardrobe. Lillian got a "You are my sunshine" picture for her nursery and a little crown.
After our shopping trip we came home. I had to go back out to the library to get some books for the first week of school and then I went to the grocery store to get us something for dinner. I came home and fixed us dinner.
Here are the links..
This was the first time I fixed the chicken recipe, but it was very good. We also had salad with balsamic vinaigrette and we dipped the chicken in the dressing and it was even better:)
We've had this couscous and zucchini a few times and we really like it. Nick likes couscous A LOT. I did  too when I thought it was as healthy as quinoa, but after reading about it on the internet it's more like a pasta...so I'm a bigger fan of quinoa. BUT this has zucchini in it so I'm good with that.:)
For dessert we had strawberries and nutella and some kiwi! YUM! After we ate we sat outside on our porch for a little bit and listened to some music.:)
Night Night:)
