Valentine's Day was yesterday. I couldn't help but think about my sweet daddy and how much he loved Valentine's Day...well he loved every holiday really, but him being a romantic at heart really made Valentine's Day special. :) He was never afraid to express love and show his love for someone. He seemed to find such joy in showering people that he loved with surprises and gifts and just showing how much he cared about them. He bought Kimberly and I chocolates and stuffed animals for Valentine's Day up until he passed away. I was 27 years old and still getting gifts from my daddy on Valentine's Day. Makes me smile. Makes my heart happy. Brings tears to my eyes. I miss him. Oh I miss him. What I would do to hear his voice on the other end of the phone...to hear his laugh...to see happiness just ooze out of him. He smiled with his eyes. He had a zest for life...a true love for everything about it and he had a way of sharing that with others just by being in the same room. He had a sweet, kind, gentle spirit...he was a softy...he was one who loved being loved and he loved loving others. He didn't hold anything back when it came to how much he loved something or someone and he never left you wandering if he loved you or not...you knew. By his words, his actions, his selfless ways. He found such joy in giving us Valentine's gifts...his two grown adult daughters...he picked out the chocolates, the stuffed animals, and the cards with such sincerity and great anticipation of the happiness it would bring us when he gave them to us. Valentine's Day...a holiday that I hold dearest to my heart because of my sweet daddy, my papa bear.
So, yes, like the quote says "there's a little bit of Heaven in our home"... and in our hearts!! <3
Lilly's daycare teachers and some family members, too have said that Lilly smiles with her eyes. She just lights up when you look at her! There's a piece of my daddy shining through her for sure!!
Also, when she's in the bathtub she looks the most like my daddy than anyone else! I was thinking about him the other night when I was washing her hair. It made me think about washing his hair for him when he was so sick from the chemo. I miss him so much! I would do anything to get to see him with Lilly. I know he would be head over heels in love with her!! God just whispers to my heart..."be patient...he will meet her one day." Until then I will cherish every moment with her and know that he is sharing every smile, every giggle, every moment with us.
February 1st will forever be another special "holiday" of mine, too! On February 1, 2013, my daddy, at 58 years old prayed the prayer of salvation! His eternity was secured! This is even more special because The Lord took him home almost an exact month later, on March 8, 2013. What an incredible story of God's grace, His unfailing love, His greatness. I am so thankful to have the peace that my daddy is in Heaven.
One morning on the way to daycare...
After school we had a mini photo-shoot:)
Look that that face!!!:):)
Let's take a selfie to send to daddy:):)

After church we went by Babies R Us to get a few things and this little girl was pooped!:)
Look at those chunky feet and toes!! I LOVE them!!!:)
The weather was unusually warm in January! We went for a stroll around the hood:)
Just a little windy though so she had on her hat:)
Her great grandma and great grandpa came by to visit her:)
4 MONTHS!!!!!
I wanted a picture of her in these jammies because they are a favorite of mine on her! This is the last time she wore them because she outgrew them. :(
Look at this wild child!! Nick laid her in her crib and talked to her for a few minutes then walked into the kitchen where I was. He went back in there a few minutes later and she had completely turned herself around!!
Teething means I will chew on ANYTHING!!!
Who me? :)
Little Love Bug!!:):)
Melts my heart!!! <3
Smiling with those eyes!!:)
Daddy came to steal some kisses!!
She wore this to school on Monday...the week of Valentine's Day!
She had a Valentine outfit for everyday!:)
Poppy stopped by one night to visit! She was already in her jammies ready for bed, but when he showed up she was ready to go!:)
He liked seeing her in her new sunglasses!!
She loves seeing him wear his sunglasses, too!:)
Poppy was stealing some kisses!:)
Then they played in the mirror!:)
Lilly gave her teachers a Valentine each day of that week!
Monday we brought in cupcakes with a note that said "Thank you for being so sweet, I hope you enjoy your special treat!":)
(I forgot to take a picture)
Another day we brought in these heart shaped cookies with this note...
Another day she gave them Dove heart shaped chocolates with this note..
It takes a BIG heart to shape a little mind.:)
Another day she gave them some M&M's:)
Then on Friday she gave them hand lotion and hand sanitizer with this note...
My Aunt Jan sent me this picture from Lilly's dedication at church...her friend sent it to her.:)
On the way to the doctor for her 4 month check-up...and shots. :-/
She fell asleep on the way...
Nick was taking pictures of our beautiful 'chunk' while we were waiting on Dr. Luci to come in. She was naked because the nurse weighed her...15 pounds:)
15 pounds of LOVE right here!!:)
Me? Getting shots? NO!
Boo for shots!:(
Holding mommy's hand and snuggling with my lovie:)
Jammies as soon as we got home from the doctor and snuggles with daddy to make it all better!!:)
Battle wounds..:(
Lilly was kicking her legs when the nurse was trying to give her one of her shots and she pricked her with the needle and she started bleeding:( Broke my heart into a million pieces!
Not in the happiest mood after her shots, but still wanted to play with Mike the Monkey:)
The next day mommy had a hair appointment so we went to Kim's shop:)
My Heart is Made of Gold!:)
Just the cutest:)
Pretty, Pretty Princess:)
Thank you Aunt Kelly and Uncle Ja for my super cute outfit!:)
There's a little smile:)

"I am fearfully and wonderfully made" -Psalm 139:14
Let me tell you something:)
Thank you MiMi and Grandpa for my bib:)
I love this post from incourage.me...
Lilly after daycare on Friday...she had on the cutest Valentine's Day outfit, but she had a HUGE blowout so they had to change her!
They made this with her feet:)
Sweet smiles!
Her smile is contagious:)
So serious!!:)
Valentine's Day with my LOVE BUG!:)
Holding her in my arms...the best feeling in the whole world!!
Okay...so Christmas I meant to get an imprint of her hands and feet...I wanted it to be a yearly tradition. BUT I forgot. :( Then I said I would make it a New Year tradition, but I didn't do it then either.:( So I decided to make it an annual Valentine's Day event. Nick got all into it because the kit came with a face mask and gloves! So he brought out his goggles, too! Joy had stopped by on her way back into town so she tried to help us. It didn't work out though! First it was too runny then it was too thick and dried before we made her imprint. Oh well...we shall try again...another day:)
Look at those legs! Ahh I love her!!
She's my favorite!!
Nick went to the store to get a few things and came back with some roses!! Such a sweetie!!:)
We were trying to take a selfie on Lilly's first Valentine's Day...she was not too excited about it!
Nick an I were having fun though:)
Play time on Valentine' Day!:) Her cheeks were rosy! She just woke up from napping with me!:)
Not much of a smile though...she was teething pretty bad:(
Nick caught us napping on Valentine's Day morning! ;-)
Happy FIRST Valentine's Day Lillian Mae Allen!!
Sunday, February 15...we didn't make it to church...
Snuggling in the bed and taking pictures with our sweet girl!
We love these little sleep sacks on her! They keep her so warm and cozy!!:)
Headed to Emily and Tyler's to meet Emary Kate and Ellie! Also to have some yummy lunch...low country boil...and do some shopping with the girls' clothes:)
Trying her first solid food! Avocados!!
She LOVED them! She sucked it right off the spoon and she even started eating it off of her bib!:)
YUM!!:)
Monday, February 16...teacher workday and I got this message from her daycare because of the wintry mix that was headed our way!
I was so excited to get my sweet girl a little earlier than normal:)
Her teacher Ms.Nicole sent me this picture of Lilly in the swing:)
This was Nick coming to meet us as we were pulling into the garage...it was sleeting and had a little bit of snow mixed in:)
Nick had the fireplace going when we got there! We got all cozy and warm:)
Too funny!! It's what we do in the south... go get your bread and milk!!:)
She wasn't feeling the best...teething stinks!!
She had her paci turned sideways!!:)
Tuesday, February 17...she woke up at 5 A.M. and she was just laying in her crib talking away!! I love watching and listening to her on the monitor!!
It was definitely a day for snoozies!!:)
That doesn't look like a NO SCHOOL HAPPY FACE!!!
Jonah was enjoying being all warm inside:)
Lilly and Daddy watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse:)
Such a happy girl!!!:)
Eat her up!!:)
Our day was spent napping and playing!! Her teething really bothers her in the late afternoon. This is her favorite teether!
She laid it on her face!!:) Silly girl!
We alternate teethers!!:)
Pick one...any one:)
Nick went to the store before the BIG winter storm came...we thought we were going to be trapped inside for days! He bought more sugary junk food than our kitchen has ever seen! Chocolate covered doughnuts, jelly creme pies, brownies, ice cream, cookies!
Brownie Bites+Cookies and Cream Ice Cream=YUUUM!!!:):)
Brownie Bites+Cookies and Cream Ice Cream=YUUUM!!!:):)
Lilly's milestones...
*She's now wearing a Level 3 diaper!
*She's wearing some size 3 month clothes, but not many...they are snug. She is mostly wearing 3-6
*She has great head and body control! Dr. Luci wants her to do more tummy time to practice getting to the point of pushing herself up with her arms and holding herself up...to get prepared for crawling..
When she had her try to do it she held herself up for a few seconds, but by the time Dr. Luci gets in to see her she's always pretty tired anyway.
*When we are changing her diaper now she will lift her head up and it's like she's doing crunches! So, Nick says "work those abs girl!"
*She LOVES standing up! She gets so excited!!
*She LOVES playing peek-a-boo and will giggle so loudly!!
*She LOVES to be tickled and this makes her giggle, too!!
*She grabs and holds onto anything and everything! I love it watching her with her hands now! It is so sweet to see her just grab things and hold on! I especially love it when she grabs my fingers! She likes to play with my fingers, too! It is soo sweet!! She also likes to flip her 'binky' around with her hands when she is sucking on it. It's absolutely precious!! This makes playtime so fun, too because she really gets into touching and playing!
*She still watches Arthur in the morning with her daddy while I'm getting ready for work. She also likes to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Curious George.:)
Some of my favorites...
